Welcome to Brick Yard Point
Located along the shore of the Quinnipiac River in North Haven, Connecticut, Brick Yard Point is a 57-acre tract of restored habitat set aside for wildlife while serving to introduce visitors to wildlife and ecological restoration through self-guided interpretive walking trails.
Formerly home to industrial operations for over a century, the restored wetlands and meadows at Brick Yard Point reestablish vital habitat linkages in the Quinnipiac River corridor by creating and protecting viable and critical regional ecosystems.
Visitors will be greeted with unique views of the river and observe four ecosystems along a network of trails and interpretive signage. Tidal marshes, estuaries, freshwater wetlands, and upland meadows attract a rich diversity of wildlife and plants. Brick Yard Point serves as a stopover for migratory birds, as well as attracting both seasonal and year-round wildlife.
The four-loop trail system includes educational themes highlighting the property’s history, the restoration process, and ecosystem functions and values.
